MONTESSORI
PHILOSOPHY:
Montessori education
is named after (and in
honor of) Dr. Maria
Montessori, the first
woman in Italy to become
a physician. She laid
the groundwork and
established a more
enlightened way of
teaching children.
Montessori educational
methods are based on her
scientific observation
of a child’s learning
processes. Guided by her
discovery that children
teach themselves, she
designed a ‘structured
environment’ in which
children could choose
freely from a number of
developmentally
appropriate activities.
Montessori emphasizes
learning through all
five senses, not just
through listening,
watching, or reading.
Children in Montessori
classes learn at their
own, individual pace and
according to their own
choice of activities
from hundreds of
possibilities. Learning
is an exciting process
of discovery, leading to
concentration,
motivation,
self-discipline, and a
love of learning.
Montessori represents an
entirely different
approach to education in
that individuality and
creativity are
encouraged while
maintaining a structured
environment.
OUR MISSION:
Montessori on Wheels
Education service is
committed to providing a
complete Montessori
education that
incorporates an
excellent learning
environment. Our
objective is for
children to become
independent,
self-reliant people,
aware of what they want
from life, with the
tools necessary to
achieve their goals,
develop a sense of self,
and make their unique
contribution to society.
OUR TEACHERS:
Our teachers are
responsible for
implementing our
well-developed,
high-quality program.
All of our teachers have
formal teacher
certifications and
experience in early
childhood Montessori
education. Our teachers
are very keen observers
of the individual
interests and needs of
each child, and they
monitor and track the
respective progress of
each child, as well as
communicate with parents
on a regular basis. They
recognize signs of
receptivity and
readiness, and prepare
the environment
accordingly to meet the
child’s needs. They
serve as guides, not as
dictators, of children’s
learning. |
